W E L C O M E
Welcome to the Hamilton Medical Center Intensive Care Unit. We strive to provide patients and their families with the highest level of compassionate care. The following guidelines are designed to meet your loved one’s need for rest, safety, privacy, and dignity.
INTENSIVIST PROGAM
The intensivist program is a specialized team of providers such as doctors, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners who provide detailed care for critically ill patients in the ICU 24 hours a day. They have advanced training and experience in treating and performing procedures on critically ill and performing procedures on patients who are critically ill and/or have complex medical issues.
NURSES
The nurses who care for your family members are specially trained in critical care. Their education and credentialing ensures the care delivered to your loved one meets standards of excellence and promotes health and safety.
ROUNDS
Every day, including weekends, the ICU team meets to discuss your loved one’s progress and plans for the next 24 hours. Rounds are from 9:00 am – 11:00 am. Multiple patients with varying degrees of illness are included in rounds. For this reason, we cannot guarantee a set time with your loved one every day. We encourage you to come and participate when the team rounds on your loved one.
TECHNOLOGY FORWARD
PrisMax is a new type of continuous renal replacement therapy approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in August 2019. Hamilton Medical Center was the first hospital in the nation to use the technology.
