Anand Kenia, MD, an experienced cardiac specialist, researcher, and electrophysiologist, has joined Hamilton Cardiovascular Institute as chief of cardiac electrophysiology.
Electrophysiology is the cardiac subspecialty dealing with diagnosing and treating problems with the heart’s electrical system.
“The most rewarding part of being a cardiac electrophysiologist, for me, is being able to combine an understanding of severe cardiac disease with cutting-edge, electrically engineered treatments and medical therapy with the sole purpose of making our patients feel better and live longer,” he said.
Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology and Echocardiography, Kenia has received numerous awards and recognitions, including being named as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor three times from 2021 to 2024.
Kenia is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine and has a bachelor of business administration degree from Emory University Goizueta Business School. He also completed a Cardiac Pacing and Electrophysiology Fellowship and a Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
Serving through medical care is part of Kenia’s family legacy. His mother is a pediatrician while his father is a cardiologist. He is now married to a psychiatrist, and they have two young daughters. When he isn’t working, Kenia enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis and attending Hawks and Braves games in Atlanta.
Kenia is actively engaged in groundbreaking research and has presented at multiple prestigious conferences and published in esteemed journals.
