Hamilton Health Care System To Host Paramedic Training

Beginning in June, Hamilton Health Care System will host paramedic certification training by the Emergency Education Coalition – Faithful Guardian Training Center (FGTC).

Classes are shift friendly and rotate based on the student’s schedule. Beginning in mid-June, the courses will be held in the Winkler Education Building, 1275 Elkwood Drive.

The Emergency Education Coalition – FGTC is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs upon the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).

The school is recognized by the Georgia Office of EMS and Trauma. All students are required to pass the course, as well as, a National Registry practical and written exam to become a certified paramedic.

Hamilton Medical Center Hosts Virtual Symposium for Nursing Students

Hamilton Medical Center (HMC) recently hosted its 5th annual student symposium for senior nursing students across the region. This year, it was held virtually due to COVID-19.

More than 80 local nursing students participated, including students from Dalton State College, Georgia Northwestern Technical College, Southern Adventist University and Chattanooga State Community College.

“Hamilton enjoys hosting this event yearly,” said Mickie Hollis, director of Clinical Development Services. “It serves our community and local nursing schools by supporting nursing students in transitioning from student to practicing nurses more efficiently.”

The event included sessions on interviewing skills, infection prevention, orientation/nurse residency programs, human resources, and a nursing panel. Students also virtually toured various units within HMC. The event is designed to assist upcoming nursing graduates to succeed in pursuing their career goals.

Hamilton to Offer Diabetes Workshop on Technology Assistance

Dracey Adams, RN, diabetes clinician, will present “Healthy Holidays,” a diabetes workshop, on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at Hamilton Diabetes and Endocrinology Center.

Hamilton Diabetes and Endocrinology Center, formerly Hamilton Comprehensive Diabetes and Metabolic Center, will host “Healthy Holidays,” a diabetes workshop, on Tuesday, Oct. 2.

Dracey Adams, RN, diabetes clinician, will present the workshop from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the center at 1109 Burleyson Road, Suite 103.

The workshop will focus on keeping stress and sugars under control while enjoying the holidays.

Hamilton Diabetes and Endocrinology Center provides diabetes workshops on the first Tuesday in February, April, June, August and October
