Dr. Castro attended medical school at the University of Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia, completed her residency training in internal medicine at the University of Miami/ JFK Medical Center Palm Beach in Palm Beach, Florida, and her fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
In her spare time, Dr. Castro enjoys spending time with her husband (also a physician) and her friends. She likes to spend time outdoors and explore different types of foods and restaurants.
Dr. Castro treats patients with chronic rheumatic and autoimmune diseases like osteoarthritis, gout, fibromyalgia, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthritis, myositis, vasculitis, etc. She chose rheumatology as her specialty because “it allows me the opportunity to serve and care for patients who have a variety of diseases and establish an ongoing relationship with them. I grew up in a family that taught me that you don’t need to do big things to help others. Even small things make a difference. I enjoy having a career as a rheumatologist because I get to make a difference in people’s lives.”

Dr. Turner specializes in adult cancer and hematology disorders. He completed his internal medicine residency at University of Virginia Health Systems in Charlottesville, Virginia, and his medical oncology/hematology fellowship training at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Dr. Turner practiced medical oncology in Calhoun, Georgia, for fifteen years before joining Hamilton.

Emily Brandt, MD is a board-certified Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician at Anna Shaw Children’s Institute in Dalton, GA. Dr. Brandt specializes in attention disorders, autism spectrum disorders, behavioral and developmental challenges, and more. Dr. Brandt has cared for children with developmental delays and has assisted with educating medical students, pediatrics residents, and child psychiatry residents during her fellowship at the University of Iowa and as a member of the faculty at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Chattanooga. Lisa A. Duhaime, MD is a board-certified oncologist at Peeples Cancer Institute in Dalton, GA. She received her medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine in Toledo, Ohio. She completed her residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Mich., and a fellowship at H. Lee Moffit Cancer Center at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
