Occupational Therapy can be vital in any recovery efforts after a hospitalization, surgery or catastrophic event. Our Occupational Therapy Team at Hamilton Home Health specializes in assisting patients with Activities of Daily Living, Upper Extremity Strengthening and Movement and Training to those who care for someone with Cognitive Deficits in order to help them participate in their own care, safely and with little or no pain. Equipment needs after surgery or an orthotic event (such as knee replacement, hip replacement or amputation) or a decline in function through a disease process can be assessed. Safety is of the utmost importance and an Occupational Therapist can help train caregivers to safely assist their loved ones as to not hurt themselves in the process.
Our Therapy Team has also achieved certification in the area of LSVT BIG programming. It is a program that came out of the Parkinson’s literature but can be directed in any neurological diagnosis. It is a proven program that can assist patients in much greater function, safety and movement. It is also a proven falls prevention program. Occupational Therapy can also provide Low Vision services to those who may have sight deficits.
Our Therapists at Hamilton Medical Center are all graduates of reputable Universities with advanced degrees and are licensed with strict guidelines by the state of Georgia.
