Diabetes education classes are covered by most insurances. We encourage you to check with your insurance provider to determine your insurance benefits. Most of our services are applied to deductibles. Please contact us and we will be happy to assist you in determining your approximate out of pocket expense. All diabetes education classes are led by Hamilton’s registered dietitian and nutrition experts.

Comprehensive Diabetes Education
Our comprehensive diabetes education class includes: Overview of the different types of diabetes, standards of care, acute and chronic complications, sick day rules, stress management, behavior change, exercise, nutrition and meal planning, medication, foot care, eye care, and goal setting.
Meal Planning for Diabetes
Our nutrition class will help you better control your blood sugar by showing you what and how much to eat. It includes an individualized meal plan, portion size examples, weight loss tips if needed, and healthy snack ideas.
Carbohydrate Counting
If you are on meal time insulin, this class will help you obtain optimal blood sugar control. We review what foods contain carbohydrates, how to dose insulin based on the amount of carbohydrates you consume, monitoring, and sliding scale insulin.
Medication Management
In medication management we teach how to properly administer and dose your diabetes medication.
Gestational Diabetes Education
Overview, treatment, possible complications to mother and baby, blood glucose monitoring, and meal planning
Insulin Pump Training
Individual instruction by Elayna Roberts, MHS RDN LD CDE, will teach you how to use your insulin pump and everything that comes with it.
Professional Continuous Glucose Monitoring
Are you watching what you eat and taking your medications as prescribed and still not seeing your A1c decrease? Are you having low blood sugars and don’t know why? Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) may be for you. A CGM device measures your blood sugars every 5 minutes, giving you and your physician a clear picture of what your blood sugars are doing at all hours of the day, and night.
