DALTON, Ga. (March 28, 2016) –Hamilton Medical Center will host a free mother/daughter dinner for girls age 11 and up and their mothers or female caregivers on Tuesday, April 19 at 6 p.m. in Hamilton’s Mensa dining room (service level).
Shana Whiteford, director of the Hamilton Regional Cancer Institute, will speak on human papilloma virus (HPV) cancer risk and prevention.
“It’s important for girls to know risk factors for HPV, and what they can do to help prevent it,” said Whiteford.
Those who attend will be entered to win door prizes, including an iPad Mini 2.
There are 12,000 new cases of cervical cancer each year in the United States. Early detection methods include vaginal exams, Pap tests and cervical cytology.
