“Dr. Darria” to Speak at Wellspring Luncheon

Darria Long Gillespie, MD, MBA, emergency room physician, national spokesperson, and TV Host, will speak at the Wellspring for Women luncheon program sponsored by the Whitfield Healthcare Foundation on August 28th

DALTON, GA . . .  The Whitfield Healthcare Foundation invites all women in the community to the upcoming Wellspring for Women luncheon program, entitled “ER 101 – What to Know before You Go” on Wednesday, August 28th.  The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. at The Farm, 187 South Goose Hill Road, Rocky Face.  

Dr. Darria Long Gillespie, current Executive Vice President at Sharecare, an Assistant Professor at the Emory University School of Medicine and an Emergency Room Physician with Emory University Hospital, will be the guest speaker.  Prior to her current position, she was an instructor at Harvard Medical School and a physician in the Emergency Department at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA.  She earned her medical degree from the University Of Rochester School Of Medicine and her MBA from Harvard Business School.  She has hosted her own television show, “OnCall with Dr. Darria” as well as the show “HealthU with Dr. Darria”.  Additionally, she is a National Spokesperson for the American College of Emergency Physicians.  In this role, she has contributed to numerous articles in national media, on the web, in live radio interviews and educational videos.

An emergency room visit can be confusing and stressful, knowing when to, where to, and what to expect as well as being prepared can help speed up the process and relieve some anxiety.  Dr. Darria, a native of Chattanooga, TN, will answer these questions as well as answer questions from the audience.
