Hamilton receives 1st place VHA Leadership Award

Hamilton Medical Center’s Emergency Department recently received a first place VHA Leadership Award. DALTON, Ga.– The Hamilton Medical Center (HMC) Emergency Department received first place VHA Leadership Award at VHA’s 2013 Leadership Expo in Atlanta on Sept. 11.

HMC received the award in the 150 to 349-bed category for a project titled, “Decreasing Left Without Treatment Rates in the Emergency Department.”

The Expo included a keynote presentation by a proven performance improvement and leadership expert, a supplier trade show and poster session showcasing over 90 application entries.

The event culminated a 6-month process of collecting applications from member hospitals and an extensive peer review evaluation to select winners that participated in VHA Georgia’s Leadership Awards Program.
