DALTON, Ga. (March 1, 2016) – Concussion evaluation and management is the topic for a Georgia Nurses Association seminar at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 7, presented by Hamilton Sports Medicine.
The event is open to nurses, nurse practitioners and nursing students and will be held at the Whitfield Health Center Education Room at the Whitfield Health Department, 800 Professional Blvd., in Dalton.
The seminar will include information on concussion evaluation tools and tips, return-to-play protocols, developing policy and procedure, tips for parent and patient communication, and new research and tools for review.
“The effects of a concussion are usually temporary but can have long-term effects if not identified and treated appropriately,” said Stephanie Rynas, Hamilton Sports Medicine certified athletic trainer. “This presentation will review the news research and proper evaluation of a concussed individual at the pediatric and adult levels for health care providers.”
