DALTON, Ga. – Caron Peavy, Gift Shop manager, recently retired after 25 years working at Hamilton Medical Center (HMC). A reception was held at HMC in her honor.
Peavy began her career at HMC in 1990 through Whitfield Staffing. She worked in several departments through staffing before becoming an administrative assistant to an HMC vice president. She also worked as the volunteer coordinator. In 2000, she became the Gift Shop manager.
“I have a deep appreciation for what Caron has done for the last 15 years,” said Shelia Baker, director of Patient Experience and Organizational Development (also overseeing the Gift Shop). “There is a lot of work and coordination to make the Gift Shop successful, and Caron has effectively, efficiently and graciously done this for the past 15 years.”
Baker said she really appreciates how Peavy has earned the respect and loyalty of the volunteers who give their time and heart to the Gift Shop. “Volunteer coverage is vitally important to the day-to-day operations of the Gift Shop,” Baker said. “And one of the reasons our volunteers have continuously given their time is because of the love and appreciation they felt from Caron.”
