My Baby's Delivery
Each month, nearly 200 mothers-to-be choose Hamilton Medical Center's Turner Maternal & Infant Care Center to have their baby.
What to do before you get there
You may phone your physician or The Turner Center before you leave for the hospital. Your obstetrician will provide you with the information needed to pre-register for hospital admission. Mothers who've filled out the information in the pink prenatal packet provided during the third trimester will find they have saved precious minutes upon arrival.
Where to go
The Turner Center is located in the Burkett Building at the corner of Burleyson Drive and Broadrick Drive. It has its own separate entrance. After 9pm (end of visiting hours), you should enter the left entrance and press the buzzer for access to the center.
What to expect
Upon arrival, you will be admitted. You will be taken to an evaluation room for an initial exam. When your care provider determines you are in labor, you will then be moved into a LDR (Labor, Delivery and Recovery) room.
Visitor Information
Patients may have up to three visitors at a time in addition to their husband or designated support person. Grandparents of the newborn are granted an extended visitation period from 8:30 to 9 pm each evening. A newborn's siblings are allowed visitation in the post-partum rooms. Children under 12, other than the newborn's siblings, are not allowed to visit on patient floors. Visiting hours are between 11am and 8:30 pm. Each visitor must wear a visitor's pass at all times. Each patient will be issued three visitor passes.
Financial Arrangements
You should discuss maternity coverage with your employer or private insurance carrier to determine your insurance coverage. All charges not covered by insurance are your responsibility to pay. Personal checks, many types of insurance, VISA, Mastercard and Discover cards are accepted.
Physician Billing
Your hospital bill includes hospital charges only. Physician's professional services are billed separately. You will receive separate bills from an anesthesiologist, obstetrician, radiologist and other professionals needed during your visit.
