 HMC nurses

DALTON, Ga. Hamilton Medical Center (HMC) is celebrating nurses this week in honor of National Nurses Day and National Nurses Week.

Appreciation events are planned through Friday of this week.

We want to say thank you to our nurses,” said Cathy Ferguson, chief nursing officer. “They make a difference every day.”
Approximately 650 nurses are employed with HMC.

The National Nurses Week 2015 theme “Ethical Practice. Quality Care.” recognizes the importance of ethics in nursing and acknowledges the strong commitment, compassion and care nurses display in their practice and profession.

National Nurses Week is celebrated annually from May 6, also known as National Nurses Day, through May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. Traditionally, National Nurses Week is devoted to highlighting the diverse ways in which nurses work to improve health care.
