Dalton, GA – As part of the renovation and expansion of its Emergency Care Services Department, Hamilton Medical Center’s Emergency Room entrance and internal routes through the hospital have been permanently relocated.

The new entrance is located on the same side of the main hospital as before, but has relocated away from the ambulance bay and former entrance. The new entrance, as well as parking for Emergency Department patients, is designated with appropriate temporary signage.

Inside the hospital, access to the new ER has been re-routed as well. Visitors will no longer access the ER through doors near the guest elevators and chapel. They will travel down the hospital’s first floor administrative hallway and turn down the corridor that begins at Hamilton’s Human Resources Department.

According to Vice President Steve Pound, other detours through the main hospital will occur during the second phase of construction.

“We want to be extra sensitive to our guests needs during the transition period,” explained Pound. “Hamilton staff and volunteers will gladly walk or direct visitors to their destinations.”

Hamilton Medical Center’s ER project is estimated to be complete late this summer.

“We are excited to offer our patients an advanced facility that’s designed around their needs,” said Pound.
