Hamilton Medical Center Hosts Asthma Day Camp

Dalton, Ga. -- In an effort to improve asthma-related symptoms in children, Hamilton Medical Center will host Camp Wheezy 2005. Session one will be held on June 2, 2005 for children ages 6 - 9 and a session two will be held on June 3, 2005 for children ages 10 - 15. Both Camp Wheezy sessions will be held at Hamilton Bradley Center, located at 1225 Broadrick Drive.
The goal of the Camp Wheezy is to reduce asthma-related hospital admissions, ER visits and missed school days and improve quality of life within these age groups through education aimed at symptom control. Activities and educational sessions focusing on asthma symptoms, triggers, medications, smoking, peak flow meters and spacers will be ongoing throughout the day. Activities will include ball, swimming, crafts and a magic show.
