Hamilton Medical Center Hosts Diabeste Day Camp

Dalton, GA. – In an effort to improve symptoms in children with Type 1 Diabetes, Hamilton Medical Center will host Camp Sweet Control 2005. The Whitfield Healthcare Foundation is sponsoring this one-day camp, which will be held on June 24, 2005 for children ages 6-12, at the Hamilton Bradley Center for Wellness, located at 1225 Broadrick Drive.

The goal of Camp Sweet Control is to reduce hospital admissions, ER visits and missed school days and improve quality of life within this age group through education; to promote independence and self discipline; to build self-confidence and self-esteem, and to give campers the opportunity to meet and develop friendships with other children with diabetes.

Activities will include an obstacle course, swimming, crafts and a visit from a magician. Lunch and snacks will be provided.
