Visitation Hours

For the comfort and safety of our patients, visitors should not overcrowd patient rooms. As a general rule, two or three visitors should be in a patient's room at one time. We strongly encourage visitors to keep their visiting times to a minimum. Children under the age of 12 may visit with the permission of the nurse. Please note that smoking is not permitted inside the hospital or on hospital grounds. Hamilton appreciates your understanding and compliance with these matters.

Recommended visiting times in the general care areas are from 8 am to 8:30 pm.

Patients that would like to have a relative or friend stay overnight will need to check with their nurse.

Intensive Care Units

We open the unit and welcome family members to visit with their loved ones at the following times:

6:00a- 6:30a
8:30a- 9:30a
12:00p- 1:00p
5:30p- 6:30p
8:30p- 9:30p

Maternity Unit
New mothers are allowed to receive visitors anytime from 9:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m.  Grandparents of the newborn are granted an extended visitation period from 8:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. each evening.  And the newborn's older siblings are welcome to come for a visit, too.  (For security, no babies in infant carriers are allowed on the maternity unit.)

NICU visitation is permitted at any time of the day with a few exceptions:

  1. No visitors between 6:30AM-7:30AM and  6:30PM-7:30PM
  2. During admissions and procedures

All visitors must be accompanied by one of the baby's parents.  Only 2 visitors at a time. No visitors under the age of 14 are permitted in the NICU (this includes siblings).

Because we are a clean air hospital, our entire hospital campus is now tobacco-free.
