An ER visit
If you or someone with you requires immediate medical attention, visit Hamilton Medical Center's level 2 emergency department (ED) as soon as possible. If you are unable to travel to the ED, call 9-1-1 immediately. Emergency crews will be quickly dispatched to your location.
Where to go
Hamilton's ED entrance is located on the Burleyson Drive side of the main medical center. To reach the Hamilton ED, call 706.272.6150.
What to expect
Patients or a close family member must register with an admissions clerk located just inside the ED entrance. Once registered, patients are moved into examination rooms in a timely fashion - depending on the urgency of the situation and/or as rooms become available.
You should discuss emergency department visits with your employer or private insurance carrier to determine your insurance coverage. All charges not covered by insurance are your responsibility to pay. Personal checks, many types of insurance, VISA, Mastercard and Discover cards are accepted.
Your hospital bill includes all hospital charges only. Physicians professional services are billed separately. You will receive separate bills from an anesthesiologist, a pathologist (if tissue samples are examined) and/or radiologist (if X-rays are taken), if their services are needed.
