Diabetes Tree to be set up at Hamilton 2015

Dalton, Ga.  - Hamilton Medical Center’s Diabetes and Nutrition Center will again set up a Diabetes Tree near the hospital lobby, honoring people who have passed away due to diabetes or those who are living with the disease.

Setting up the tree in November (Diabetes Awareness Month) is an annual tradition for the Center.

Community members are encouraged to send in names for the tree. To submit a name through Nov. 20, please email Kimberly Blackstock, RN, CDE, at kblackstock@hhcs.org or call 706-272-6000, extension 5333.

The Diabetes and Nutrition Center at Hamilton Medical Center is a comprehensive program designed to help maintain the delicate balance to control diabetes with the proper nutrition, medication, exercise and control of stress.

Since 1995, the American Diabetes Association has recognized the Center’s diabetes program for quality patient education in accordance with National Standards for Diabetes Patient Education Programs.
