Hamilton Medical Center's program has a proven track record of good surgical outcomes. Facilities and surgeons must consistently demonstrate a commitment to the highest standard of bariatric patient care in order to meet the established requirements for approval as a BSCOE by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
This designation is given only to Centers that perform Weight Loss Surgery under the oversight of a Bariatric Medical Director. A Committee of nationally recognized and experienced bariatric surgeons reviews specific information collected during an inspection of the facility, and grants approval of the BSCOE designation only after determining that the facility conducts continuous bariatric education for its staff, performs an adequate high volume of cases, provides a full range of consultative services, and is equipped with bariatric furniture and equipment. Approval as a BSCOE is also limited to those facilities demonstrating adherence to clinical pathways, monthly patient support groups led by clinical staff, and programs that document long-term follow-up of bariatric surgery patients.
We are committed to offering you the best care, and will continue to pursue excellence in every aspect of our practice. For more information: www.surgicalreview.org
