Each month, nearly 200 mothers-to-be choose Hamilton Medical Center's Turner Maternal & Infant Care Center.
Our family-center approach to maternity care includes comfortable, spacious Labor, Delivery and Recovery (LDR) rooms equipped with everything doctors need to deliver a baby - carefully disguised within a home-like atmosphere.
LDR rooms feature a whirlpool bath, rocking chair, a television and adjoining private family waiting room. Should complications arise during delivery, operating room/delivery suites are available nearby.
Mothers are transfered to one of our private, post-partum rooms - each filled with all of the comforts of home. While there, parents may want to check out our dedicated perinatal television channel.
Attentive nurses are constantly available for mom, while highly-skilled infant care specialists look after the special needs of your newborn - whether in your room or the nursery just a few feet down the hall. Our Level II Special Care Nursery is uniquely equipped to provide essential intensive care should complications arise.
The Turner Maternal & Infant Care Center also offers educational programs, such as:
Child Birth Classes -four classes that help prepare mother for labor, delivery and post-partum.
Miracle of Birth -two classes to familiarize parents with the steps of childbirth.
Free Tours of Turner Maternal & Infant Care Center
Sibling Preparation -Special, free coping packets for the brother or sister to be.
Lactation Services -Nursing mothers, call 217-BABY for more information.
Infant Safety & CPR-How to provide a safe environment for newborns and what to do in case of emergency.
