Hamilton Sports Medicine is designed to assist individuals with
sports-related injuries. The program also provides outreach assistance
at athletic events to schools (both high schools and colleges),
the professional arena, and the community. The Sports Medicine staff
includes certified athletic trainers and physical therapists that
are trained in care and prevention of athletic injuries.
Services
As part of the Sports Medicine outreach program, an athletic trainer is on-sight
at local high school, professional, and community sports events.
The Athletic Trainer is able to provide:
- Evaluation of injuries
- Preparation for games and practices
- On-call accessibility
- Pre-season screening and physicals
- Body fat testing
- Video sports motion analysis
- In-services to staff, athletes and parents
- Conditioning program development
- Nutrition programs
- Athletic event coverage
- Institution of emergency action plans
- CPR and first aid certifications
- High school student athletic training
- Injury risk management
- Sports performance testing
Athletic Training Rehabilitation services are provided by one of our certified athletic trainers (ATC). These services are
provided at the Bradley Center for Wellness and Rehabilitation.
The athletic trainer is able to:
- Evaluate sports related injuries
- Provide treatment and care
- Conduct functional sports testing
- Conduct Biodex strength testing
- Provide return-to-sport activity planning
Saturday Morning Sports Clinic
The Saturday morning Sports Clinic is intended for athletes who have
injuries resulting from, or interfering with athletic activities. Certified
athletic trainers, physical therapists and physicians, who specialize
in sports medicine, are available for consultation regarding injury treatment
and rehabilitation programs. There is no charge for this service.
If X-rays and other testing procedures are required, those will be done
at Hamilton Diagnostic Center on Saturday morning, and will be billed
through your insurance company.
The clinic also carries a large supply of durable medical products such
as knee braces and sleeves that can be purchased on site.
This service is available each Saturday during football season. Athletes
must arrive by 8:30 am to be seen.
