To become a Certified Nursing Home Administrator, one must have two years experience as an administrator, hold a current NHA license, and have completed 40 clock hours of continuing education in the two years before sitting for the certification exam. To ensure continual competency throughout an administrator’s career, certification must be renewed every five years.
