Hamilton Sports Medicine offers American Heart Association CPR, AED Adult, Child and Infant certification training to all the schools where certified athletic trainers are stationed. For the 2015-16 school year, 32 coaches were certified through the Hamilton Sports Medicine-sponsored program. All of the Hamilton Sports Medicine staff are certified instructors and they work with Hamilton University, Hamilton Medical Center’s education department, to provide the training. Jerry Long, education specialist, works on providing the best classroom experience for the coaches. As part of the program, instructors discuss how each school’s emergency action plan would tie in with the CPR class.
