Royal Oaks to offer special activities for National Active Aging Week, Sep. 21-27

Royal Oaks is providing National Active Aging Week activities for area residents 50 and older from Sept. 22 to 26. Activities will include:

  • A “Stretch and Strength” class preview Monday, Sept. 22 at 11:30 a.m.

  •  “Strength Training as the Fountain of Youth” with Tom Morrison, fitness coordinator for Bradley Wellness Center, Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 2 p.m.

  • Wii bowling tournament Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 11 a.m.

  • “Heart Healthy” presentation and lunch with Erica Jones, Bradley Wellness Center registered dietitian, Thursday, Sept. 25 at 11 a.m.

  • “Let’s Get Physical” class preview Thursday, Sept. 25 at 3:15 p.m.; and patio games and refreshments Friday, Sept. 26 at 4 p.m.

All activities will be held at Royal Oaks, 1220 Broadrick Drive, in Dalton.

Led by the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA), National Active Aging Week celebrates adults ages 50 and older as fully participating members of society and promotes the benefits of leading an active, healthier lifestyle. It also highlights the ability of older adults to live well, regardless of age or health conditions.
