Prescriptions are being filled for Hamilton Medical Center patients before they leave the hospital if they request the new Meds2Go service. The service is offered Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Typically, discharge medications can be delivered to the patient’s bedside.
“Patients have said they like the convenience of having their medications with them before they leave the hospital,” said Bucky Broadrick, retail pharmacy supervisor. “We have an excellent staff that can usually resolve medication issues such as prior authorizations or insurance formulary changes that could lead to delays in getting medicines filled at an outside pharmacy.”
Meds2Go accepts most insurance plans, including Medicare Part D, and directly bills prescriptions to insurance providers. Cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or AmericanExpress are accepted. The program offers competitive pricing. For patients with refills, Meds2Go associates can transfer the remaining refills to a patient’s regular pharmacy.
“Quality and safety are our top priorities,” said Broadrick. “And we want to make filling prescriptions as convenient and stress-free as possible.”
