DALTON, Ga. – Hamilton Diagnostics Center (HDC) recently held its fourth annual “Pampered in Pink” event in honor of HDC patients who have been diagnosed with breast cancer within the past year through the services of HDC. Each patient was encouraged to bring a friend to enjoy the event with her.

Local surgeons Eric Manahan, MD, and Rodovaldo Rodriguez, MD, made surprise visits to the event to encourage the women. Patrick Minor, MD, radiologist with the North Georgia Radiology Group, welcomed the survivors and encouraged them in their battle.

“We have this event today in honor of you (the breast cancer patient) and the courage that you have shown, and will show throughout your treatment,” said Minor.

The event included brunch served by HDC staff members, special entertainment by Jennifer Nicholson, Meghan Jennings and Leah Stokes. A fashion show featuring Kohl’s, The Dress Barn, Carla’s Fashions and The Posh Peacock Boutique using models employed by Hamilton Medical Center and having a history of breast cancer.

“The idea of using survivors as models is to encourage the women that they can move forward from this devastating life event and once again be vibrant, productive women,” said Annette Daniel, event coordinator.

Other program highlights included Karen Edmondson, director of Susan G. Komen-Chattanooga; Tricia Dunn, The Perfect Fit Boutique; and Margaret Seacrest, lymphedema specialist at Bradley Whiteside Rehabilitation.

Each attendee, as well as her invited guest, received a door prize provided by a local business and given in honor of a family member or friend.
