More than 1.6 million cancer diagnoses will be made this year in the U.S. One out of two men and one out of three women will receive a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime. Every day, four people in our community hear the words, "You have cancer." Oncology services at Hamilton Medical Center, while excellent, are currently provided in various locations across the Hamilton campus.
To develop an integrated, comprehensive cancer institute with state-of-the-art technologies, easily navigated services, and collaborative oncology and emotional support in a patient- and family-centered environment. The multi-level facility will have a two-level parking structure, two-story lobby atrium, and advanced infusion and radiotherapy suites. Hamilton will offer patients the most advanced technology available today in the rapidly evolving cancer treatment environment.
The leading-edge facility will be aesthetically compatible with the materials of the main hospital, and offer patients an exceptional destination for cancer care. The facility, designed by ESa architects of Nashville, Tennessee, will be located on the south side of Memorial Drive across from the main hospital entrance. Construction is expected to begin in 2017.
