Nick Reed, MD

DALTON, Ga. – Orthopaedic surgeon Nick Reed, MD, will speak on “Total Shoulder Replacement” at a Hamilton Medical Center (HMC) Joint Moves event at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25 in the Surgical Services Education Room at HMC.

The program is free, and light refreshments will be provided.

During the seminar, Reed will cover the typical causes, symptoms and treatment – operative and non-operative – of shoulder arthritis and pain.  He will also review the two different types of total shoulder replacement – primary and reverse.

Arthritis is inflammation of one or more of a person’s joints. In a diseased shoulder, inflammation causes pain and stiffness. Although there is no cure for arthritis of the shoulder, there are many treatment options available. Using these, most people with arthritis are able to manage pain and stay active.
