Hamilton to host Take Control diabetes awareness event - Thursday, March 21st

 Diabetes risk factors
• Overweight
• Under 65 years of age and get little or no exercise during a typical day
• 45 years of age or older
• Woman who has had a baby weighing more than 9 pounds at birth
• A family member who has diabetes

DALTON, Ga.– Hamilton Medical Center’s (HMC) Diabetes and Nutrition Center will hold Diabetes: Taking Control, a free, one-night diabetes awareness event, on Thursday, March 21 in the Brown Auditorium at HMC.

From 5 to 5:30 p.m., free blood sugar screenings will be offered. The program will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Leslie Roberts, MSH, RD, LD, CDE, diabetes and weight loss clinician, will speak on “Nutrition” at the event.

The first 25 attendees will receive a voucher for a free A1C test, and the first 50 attendees will receive a free glucose meter.
